Discipline: Jewellery

I trained as a jeweller in my late 40's after a career as an engineer. A sense of structure and balance are part of my design personality and have common ground with my former career and with my jewellery designs.

The designs are often inspired by a particular event or from my studies of fluid dynamics or from my hobbies of sailing, rowing and swimming. More recently I have become fascinated by lace and made some pieces using the most basic technique.

The designs pass through the sketch book, but are finally resolved on the bench. In my case "hand made"is a particularly appropriate description because I use mainly my fingers to create the lines of my work.
