Discipline: Felted Textiles

I started off as a Graphic Designer, but an interest in natural fibres and textiles led me to experiment with felt making in the 1990s.

I enjoy treating the materials like paint and playing with the rich colours and textures of wools, silks and other fibres. With felt you are making your own fabric, which you can mould or sew into, as well as making 3-D items such as hats, slippers and bags.

I have run workshops in felt making, with schools, colleges and community groups. I have taken part in craft fairs including Farnham Maltings, and Hackwood Arts Festival, and have worked for the National Trust schools’ projects.

I have taken part in Surrey Open Studios, as well as Brighton and Hove Open House in recent years.
