We’ll be adding to the exciting range of goodies for sale in the Surrey Guild Gallery over the coming weeks, with gifts suitable for all members of the family and decorations - which also make fantastic gifts.
Two Surrey Guild members whose work is not usually found in the gallery have brought in work to display:
Carolyn Wallis’s finely woven silk scarves have always been popular when they were available at our past ‘Gifted in Guildford’ events. Her designs and colours are ever more intricate, so her devoted followers will just have to snap them up.
Adam Aaronson’s glass was sold in the gallery for many years, but he’s not had work on display there for a while, so keen collectors will be pleased to see it back. We have vases, bowls, scent bottles and paperweights …. and of course a big basket of his ever-popular glass baubles.
Two new ceramicists have joined the gallery in the last couple of months: Iveta Goddard brings her delightfully quirky fish and clocks, and Sheena Bond’s mastery of colour and shape will appeal to everyone with space for truly imaginative design.
Meanwhile the choice of other glass and ceramics remains as inviting as ever and there is no shortage of choice for textile-lovers, jewellery fanatics or those who buy for the tactile quality of wood or leather or because the choice of colour is just too good to ignore!
‘Gifted in the Gallery’ will be staged until January 6th, to allow time for everyone with Christmas money or SGC gift tokens to choose their own gift after the 25th.
From December 1st to 23rd we will additionally be open on Mondays. There will be different members on duty each day, and you are invited to ring on 01483 282471 if you would like to meet a particular designer.
This year the gallery is closed from December 25th-28th.
