Bonnie Mackintosh

Discipline: Enameller and Pewter Artist

Bonnie works in two different disciplines: Vitreous Enamelling (the art of fusing glass to metal under high heat) and Pewter Repoussé (the craft of hand modelling thin sheet pewter for decorative effect).

Her work ranges from pieces of jewellery (‘wearable art!’ for personal adornment) to vessels, boxes and mirrors (mainly pewter work) for the home.

Bonnie specialises in creating unique pieces finished to a high standard.
Pewter work is oxidised, then polished by hand to a jewel like brilliance and may include semi precious or cut glass cabochon stones.

Enamels may incorporate fine silver or gold wires and foils, adding to their preciousness.

Her creative philosophy is ‘Simplify, simplify, simplify!  Pare down the work to its essence, and present it like a jewel.”
