I have been fascinated with clay and its ability to retain shape and texture once fired. I started working with ceramic as a thrower some 15 years ago, then moved to hand building large coiled pots in the African tradition. I now work relatively small scale with porcelain, often incorporating paper to produce a fine, almost translucent vessel when fired. I tend to keep colour simple, using oxides and porcelain slips. Many of my pieces are inspired by the sea and sea life.
I am a frequent visitor to Devon and Dorset and regularly exhibit in galleries and Open Studios there as well as in Surrey.
I am a member of the London Potters Association as well as the Surrey Guild of Craftsmen.
