Eugenie Smit
Discipline: Ceramics
Eugenie is a multidisciplinary artist and graphic designer who is currently focusing on ceramics. She carefully selects her themes and material to limit herself and control her focus. Having grown up surrounded by paleontology, wildlife and nature she gravitates towards these concepts as a source of inspiration.
She continues to spend a large portion of her time in nature collecting materials and ideas, so much so that the ritual is now part of her process.
In contrast, Eugenie is teaching herself mechanical engineering the fun way by sculpting car and go-kart parts. She creates these freehand without the use of moulds.
