Porcelain mug. 8.5cms high, 8cms wide, excluding handle. Wheel-thrown porcelain with cut-paper and painted decoration in cobalt and iron slip inspired by Minoan pottery under a wood-ash glaze. Dishwasher and microwave safe.
About the maker
Martin Tyler makes wheel-thrown stoneware and porcelain. Inspiration from foreign travel, sketchbooks and photographs is central to his creative process. Decoration makes use of paper and brushwork resist, combing and sprigging and colour is introduced through the use of clay slips. Tableware is all oven, microwave and dishwasher safe.
