'Renaissance' Tumblescope
One of a limited edition of 99 in this design. 20cm long, in purple streaky glass with inset dichroic cabouchons and decorative metalwork. Rests in a matching glass cradle when not in use. Viewing object is a 75mm axle-mounted tumblewheel containing lampworked glass arabesques and dichroic glass shapes. Produces an intricately detailed mandala-style image against a dark background. Images never repeat after the contents of the wheel have tumbled.

About the maker
Frank Higgins runs the UK’s only studio dedicated to the design and creation of “serious” kaleidoscopes, bringing twenty years of experience in glasswork to bear in developing this unique craft. Frank’s work is collected worldwide and won awards at the International exhibition “Kaleidoscopes – 200 years”.
